Syngenta 'Powers' into Mopani

by: Kirsty Redman

The annual Syngenta conference with the theme ‘Power of the Pack’ was recently held at the Mopani Restcamp in the Kruger National Park.

The annual sales and marketing conference aimed at bringing the new pack concept to all the Syngenta sales representatives from the Highveld Region, was held over 3 days and had a unique focus that brought in the concept of ‘Power the Pack’. This theme was expanded on to have a look at the Wild Dog and the effectiveness of their Pack behaviour.

The National Sales Manager Ian Mansfield, spoke enthusiastically over the new pack products named the Synpack and the Potato Pack, each containing a range of insecticides and herbicides.

Ian also highlighted Syngenta’s desire to give back to the environment, as many of their sales representatives were farmers themselves and understood the value of the natural environment. A presentation was given by Andrew Desmet (Activities co-ordinator KNP) on the plight of the Wild Dog in conservation areas, highlighting that the Kruger National Park was one of only 5 reserves with a population of over 200 dogs in the conservation area.

The evening culminated in a donation of R5000.00 being handed over by Anthony Delport (Managing Director – Sygenta) and Ian Mansfield (National Sales Manager) towards the continued conservation of the Wild Dog. The money will be earmarked for a research project on Wild Dog conservation.

Note: Mopani Restcamp in the Kruger National Park is ideally suited towards conferences and the Mopani Management welcomes any parties interested in having conferences at the Restcamp to please contact them on (013) 735 6535/6
