Honorary Rangers
HR PEAP represent SANParks at Birdlife SA display
The Honorary Rangers National Project of Public Education and Awareness Project (PEAP) represented South African National Parks (SANParks) at a Birdlife SA display at the Johannesburg Zoo. The PEAP had the opportunity to pass knowledge of SANParks to the public.
PEAP was delighted to be invited especially as the planned display, together with SANParks, at the Johannesburg Easter Show had to be cancelled.
The Johannesburg Region of PEAP utilised the stall area by installing all the display boards. SANParks brochures were given out so that the public will be able to enhance their knowledge and importance of all the National Parks. The SANParks flag was also flying high that day.
There was always a PEAP Honorary Ranger together with Johannesburg Honorary Rangers to answer the inevitable questions from the public. Many questions were asked with a common one being, “How do you become an Honorary Ranger?”
The display was seen as very successful in spite of the cold and wet weather at the time.
